Privacy Policy

Lawn.Health ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, name, and password (securely hashed) through Clerk, our authentication provider.
Lawn profile data: Information you enter in the diagnostic wizard (grass type, lawn size, location zone, goals, soil type, care history) is stored on your device and on our servers to personalize recommendations.
Phone number (optional): If you opt in to SMS reminders, we collect your phone number to send lawn care notifications via Telnyx.
Purchase data: Subscription purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple and in the Android app by Google Play. Entitlement and purchase receipt data is received and validated through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We do not see or store your credit card number.
Device and usage data: We collect app version, device model, OS version, crash reports, and anonymous usage events to diagnose issues and improve the Service.
Location (optional): With your permission, we use approximate location (GPS or USDA zone) to provide region-specific lawn care and weather-based recommendations. Location data is processed only for the duration of your session and is not sold or shared with third parties.
Photos (optional): When you use the AI lawn scanner, photos you capture or upload are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for analysis. We do not permanently store your photos beyond the analysis session unless you choose to save them to your lawn profile.
Push notification token: If you enable push notifications, we collect the device push token (issued by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging via Expo) so we can deliver reminders. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Lawn.Health Service
To send lawn care reminders and updates via SMS and push notifications (only with your consent)
To manage your subscription, validate purchases, and process payments
To provide personalized AI coaching through our "Max" feature and lawn photo analysis
To display Amazon affiliate product recommendations relevant to your lawn
To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Amazon Associates Disclosure

Lawn.Health is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for apps to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers strictly as needed to operate the Service:

Clerk — authentication and user account management
Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app subscription processing (you transact directly with them under their terms)
RevenueCat — subscription receipt validation and entitlement management
Telnyx — SMS delivery (only if you opt in)
OpenAI — AI coaching and lawn photo analysis
Expo / Apple APNs / Google FCM — push notification delivery
Replit — application hosting infrastructure

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lawn.Health, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and lawn profile data for as long as your account is active. Photo analysis requests are discarded within 30 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time through in-app account deletion (see Section 7) or by contacting us at support@lawn.health.

6. Children's Privacy

Lawn.Health is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us at support@lawn.health and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights and Account Deletion

In-app account deletion: You may permanently delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from within the app at Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing support@lawn.health. Deletion is typically completed within 30 days.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate personal information
Port your data to another service
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent previously given

8. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Lawn.Health does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise these rights by emailing support@lawn.health. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. European and UK Residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our lawful bases for processing your personal data are: (a) performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), (b) your consent (for SMS, push notifications, location, and photo analysis), (c) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and (d) compliance with legal obligations. You have the rights described in Section 7, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate; we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards where applicable.

10. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data in transit and encrypt sensitive data at rest. We limit access to personal data to authorized personnel and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites (including Amazon affiliate links). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the app, email, or a prominent in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
